This thesis examines the transition from a technocentric approach to an anthropocentric, activity-centered perspective in industrial design. Conducted within Stellantis Valenciennes on the new RG Step 4 assembly line, the study highlights the limitations of a conception process primarily focused on productivity and flows, which often reduces the complexity of human activity to quantitative indicators. By combining field observations, operator feedback, and evaluation tools (RULA, NASA-TLX, EWA), the analysis identifies the biomechanical and cognitive constraints faced by operators as well as their adaptive strategies. Three key levers are identified to promote sustainable design : early reformulation of project requirements, iterative and participatory involvement of operators, and the development of combined indicators linking industrial performance and occupational health. The results demonstrate that shifting to an anthropocentric approach is not optional but essential to reconcile technical robustness, organizational efficiency, and worker well-being.
