Le développement oro myofonctionnel de l’enfant et le lien avec le besoin de succion sont exposés et le sujet est situé dans son contexte historique. Les impacts positifs et négatifs potentiels sont évoqués. Cette étude vise à faire un état des lieux de l’existence ou non de recommandations sur les potentiels impacts de la succion non nutritive au niveau de la sphère orale dans un but de prévention. Les publicati ons ont été sélectionnées à partir des trois bases de données (GoogleScholar, Cochrane et PubMed) en répondant aux critères d’éligibilité suivants : porter sur la succion non nutritive, ses impacts positifs et négatifs, les recommandations à ce sujet, notamment sur le sevrage, être publiés en langue anglaise et à partir de 2015. 26 articles ont été conservés pour cette revue systématique de la littérature en répondant aux critères d’inclusion et d’exclusion après lecture du texte intégral. Une grille de lec ture a été appliquée pour chacun des articles. Une discussion est proposée, des apports pour la pratique orthophonique et des pistes de recherches sont formulés afin de proposer une intervention précoce favorisant un développement oral sain et en minimisan t les risques découlant des effets négatifs de la succion non nutritive. This dissertation is a systematic review of the literature on non-nutritive sucking. The oro-myofunctional development of the child and the link with the need to suck are outlined, and the subject is placed in its historical context. Potential positive and negative impacts are discussed. The aim of this study is to take stock of the existence or otherwise of recommendations on the potential impact of non-nutritive sucking on the oral sphere, with a view to prevention. The publications were selected from three databases (GoogleScholar, Cochrane and PubMed) and met the following eligibility criteria: they had to deal with non-nutritive sucking, its positive and negative impacts, recommendations on the subject, particularly on weaning, and they had to be published in English and from 2015 onwards. 26 articles were retained for this systematic literature review by meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria after reading the full text. A reading grid was applied to each article. A discussion is proposed, contributions for speech and language therapy practice and avenues for research are formulated in order to propose an early intervention promoting healthy oral development and minimising the risks arising from the negative effects of non-nutritive sucking.
