Sans aucun traitement curatif, elle touche pourtant 10 millions de français, chiffre qui augmentera avec certitude en réponse au vieillissement de la population. Avec une multitude de prises en charge possibles allant de l’adaptation du mode de vie aux prothèses, la compétitivité de ce marché ne fait que croître. Une enquête de terrain réalisée auprès d’industriels et de professionnels de santé a permis de proposer des recommandations pour mieux définir la prise en charge de suggérer des axes stratégiques. La collaboration entre Industrie et soignants, et le positionnement comme réel acteur du parcours de soin légitimera les produits et services proposés par les laboratoires. La nouvelle stimulation de la compétitivité devra cependant être couplée à des actions de recherche et de prévention dans le but de mieux définir les parcours de soin et de mieux appréhender l’évolution future de cette pathologie encore mal définie. Without any curative treatment, it affects 10 million people in France, a figure that will certainly increase as the population ages. With a multitude of possible treatments ranging from lifestyle adaptations to prostheses, the competitiveness of this market is growing. A field survey carried out with manufacturers and healthcare professionals has made it possible to propose recommendations to better define the management and suggest strategic directions. Collaboration between industry and healthcare professionals and positioning as a real player in the healthcare process, will legitimize the products and services offered by laboratories. However, the new stimulation of competitiveness will have to be coupled with research and prevention actions in order to better define the care pathways and to better understand the future evolution of this still not well-defined pathology.
