L’objectif de ce travail est de faire un état des lieux de l’utilisation de ces techniques en pratique clinique pour rendre compte de leur apport en orthophonie à ce jour. Pour ce faire, nous avons proposé une étude transversale sous forme de questionnaire que nous avons diffusé sur les réseaux sociaux ainsi que via une liste de contact d’orthophonistes certifiés de la formation Ostéovox©, en accès libre sur internet. Ainsi, les informations récoltées ont été confrontées à la littérature scientifique et nous sommes arrivés à la conclusion que les professionnels interrogés faisant appel à la thérapie manuelle dans leurs prises en soin peuvent le faire à n’importe quel moment de la rééducation mais qu’ils l’utilisent rarement tout au long d’une prise en soin. Aussi, les orthophonistes préfèrent en faire usage dans les domaines de la voix et des atteintes oto-rhino-laryngologiques (ORL). Grand nombre d’entre eux mentionnent l’indispensabilité de ces techniques en pratique, cependant, nous avons relevé des critères d’éviction liés à la condition d’un patient ou à un manque de confiance de la part du professionnel concerné. Enfin, il semblerait pertinent d’approfondir le sujet autour de la pluridisciplinarité en thérapie manuelle, auprès d’ostéopathes mais aussi de phoniatres, dentistes et orthodontistes. In recent years, manual therapies have developed strongly in speech therapy. The aim of this study is to review the use of these techniques in clinical practice and to report on their contribution to speech therapy to date. To achieve this, we proposed a cross-sectional study in the form of a survey which we distributed on social networks and via a contact list of certified speech therapists from the Osteovox© training course, freely available on the internet. The information collected was compared with the scientific literature and we came to the conclusion that the professionals interviewed who use manual therapy in their treatment can do so at any time during rehabilitation but that they rarely use it throughout the course of treatment. Also, speech and language therapists (SLTs) preferred to use it in the areas of voice and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) problems. Many of them mentioned the indispensability of these techniques in practice, however, we noted criteria for avoidance linked to a patient's condition or a lack of confidence from the professional concerned. Finally, it would seem relevant to look further into the subject of multidisciplinary manual therapy, with osteopaths but also with phoniatrists, dentists and orthodontists.
