Les Jeux ont eu un impact positif non seulement sur les athlètes et les organisateurs, mais aussi sur la communauté locale, contribuant à améliorer l'image du Congo en tant que capitale de la France libre à l'époque. Après cela, avec l'avènement de la « démocratie », le Congo a sombré dans la guerre civile dans les années 1990. Afin de restaurer son image nationale, le Congo s'est inspiré de l'expérience des Jeux Africains de 1965 et a accueilli la Coupe d'Afrique du football Junior en 2007 et les XIe Jeux Africains en 2015, démontrant ainsi la capacité du Congo à ac-cueillir et à organiser des événements sportifs majeurs et à utiliser ces événements sportifs inter-nationaux pour rétablir la cohésion nationale détruite par les conflits internes. Cependant, les XIe Jeux Africains que nous étudions actuellement ont eu un impact bénéfique, ce qui nous amène à nous interroger : quel impact ont eu ces Jeux du cinquantenaire ? L'impact des XIe Jeux a été complexe à évaluer car il implique la triple dimension humaine-urbaine-territoriale, ce qui a conduit à la nécessité d'une approche mixte pour éviter toute évaluation partielle et dresser un portrait critique de l'impact de cet événement majeur. Cela a conduit à une exploration multiméthodes (entretiens semi-directifs, observation directe associée à la photographie et analyse documentaire) et enfin à une enquête quantitative (recensement et analyse documentaire) de l'apport économique de cet événement sportif africain en recensant les infrastructures et activités lucratives générées par cet événement. L'exploration a révélé l'énorme impact humain qu'a eu cette compétition sportive africaine, pendant et juste après, sans oublier les volets urbains et territoriaux. Il s'agit notamment de la croissance des valeurs managériales et entrepreneuriales, de la croissance des valeurs psychologiques, de la croissance sportive avec la création de nouvelles fédérations, mais avec un manque de statistiques de licences, la création de la commune de Kintélé, la valorisation du foncier, de la croissance environnementale avec le projet African Green Challenge et les véhicules électriques, du développement d'infrastructures de qualité, sans oublier la formation des journalistes et des stadiers, ainsi que des juges et des arbitres. Cependant, à long terme, ces résultats révèlent également certains aspects négatifs, tels que la non-expropriation complète, la politisation des organisations sportives et la négligence des installations sportives et la non-exploitation de l'expérience acquise. Par contre, les résultats quantitatifs montrent que la création de la commune Kintélé comme un grand potentiel économique, la création d'un grand nombre d'activités lucratives autour et au sein des infrastructures sportives, l'utilisation des véhicules électriques dans les transports publics, la création d'emplois et le paiement des impôts, entre autres. En bref, ces Jeux ont eu des impacts importants aux niveaux humain, territorial et urbain, mais le défi de la politisation croissante des organisations sportives est désormais devenu un enjeu majeur pour le sport congolais. The 1965 African Games marked an important milestone in the history of African sports, particularly for Congo, as they helped to internationalize sporting events in the region and showcase the athletic achievements of African athletes globally. The Games had a positive impact not only on the athletes and organizers, but also on the local community, helping to improve Congo's image as the capital of Free France at the time. Following this, with the advent of "democracy," Congo descended into civil war in the 1990s. In order to restore its national image, Congo draw inspiration from the experience of the 1965 African Games and hosted the Junior African Cup of Football in 2007 and the 11th African Games in 2015, demonstrating Congo's ability to host and organize major sporting events and to use these international sporting events to restore national unity shattered by internal conflicts. Howe-ver, the 11th African Games that we are currently studying have had a beneficial impact, which raises the question : what impact did these fiftieth anniversary African Games have ? The impact of the 11th Games was complex to evaluate because it involves the triple human-urban-territorial dimension, which led to the need for a mixed approach to avoid any partial evaluation and to draw a critical portrait of the impact of this major event. This led to a multi-method exploration (semi-structured interviews, direct observation associated with photography, and documentary analysis) and finally to a quantitative survey (census and documentary analysis) of the economic contribution of this African sports event by listing the infrastructures and profitable activities generated by this event. The exploration revealed the enormous human impact that this African sports competition had during and just after, not to mention the urban and territorial aspects. This includes the growth of managerial and entrepreneurial values, the growth of psychological values, the growth of sports with the creation of new federations but with a lack of licensing statistics, the creation of the munici-pality of Kintélé, the valorization of land, environmental growth with the African Green Challenge project and electric vehicles, the development of quality infrastructures, not to mention the training of journalists and stadium staff, as well as judges and referees. Howe-ver, in the long term, these results also reveal some negative aspects, such as incomplete ex-propriation, the politicization of sports organizations, neglect of sports facilities and the non-exploitation of acquired experience. On the other hand, quantitative results show that the creation of the Kintélé municipality has great economic potential, the creation of a large number of profitable activities around and within sports facilities, the use of electric vehicles in public transport, job creation and tax payment, among others. In short, these games have had significant impacts at the human, territorial, and urban levels, but the challenge of the increasing politicization of sports organizations has now become a major issue for Congolese sports.
