Nous partons de l'hypothèse que dans ces textes, non seulement Newton construit un nouveau concept d'espace (qui deviendra celui d'espace absolu), mais qu'il cherche à lui donner un nouveau statut ontologique. Nous proposons donc une étude généalogique du concept d'espace absolu en retraçant ses étapes d'élaboration et en prenant acte de la croyance de Newton dans l'unité fondamentale du savoir et dans l'existence d'une prisca theologia. Ce faisant, nous nous intéressons aux discussions explicites ou implicites de Newton avec ses prédécesseurs et ses contemporains. In fine, nous questionnons le statut d'évidence auquel est parvenu le concept newtonien d'espace : pourquoi fait-il écho à notre vécu de l'espace alors que la physique contemporaine l'a désubstantialisé ? In this dissertation, we analyse the manuscripts « De Gravitatione » and « Tempus et Locus » manuscript, the Queries 28 and 31 of The Opticks and the General Scholium of the Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy of Isaac Newton : this constitutes our main corpus. We start from the assumption that in these texts, Newton not only builds a new concept of space (the idea of absolute space) but also endeavours to assign it an original ontological status. This study is thus concerned with the genealogical study of the Newtonian concept of absolute space. We will describe the various steps of its elaboration, keeping in mind Newton's conception of knowledge as unified, and his belief in a prisca theologia. We will also consider Newton's explicit and implicit discussions with foregoing thinkers and with his contemporaries. In fine, we will raise the question of how the Newtonian concept of absolute space came to be considered as obvious in common sense: especially, how come this concept is still referred to when we think about the way we experience space in the concrete, even though contemporary physics have now deconstructed this concept and replaced it by the notion of space-time?
